There are four fundamental PoE standards upon which PoE relies. These four standards are as follows:
- PoE 802.3af Type 1 provides 15.4 watts.
- PoE+ 802.3at Type 2 facilitates 30 watts
- PoE++ 802.3bt Type 3 enables 60 watts
- PoE++ 802.3bt Type 4 stimulates 95 watts
So, a high-power device like a laptop falls under 50 watts or more. That means if you use the first two standards of PoE, it will not support your computer. So, you need to change the power and use the upgraded principle of PoE, such as PoE++ type 3.
